Chapter 15

The drive down to Ohio was quiet, Spencer had fallen asleep in the back with Dylan. She decided to climb in the back because he doesn’t like to be in the car for so long so she kept him occupied until they both fell asleep, after a few hours of driving we arrived at her parents. Stopping the car I got out and went to the house leaving the others asleep, I opened the door with Spencer’s key and looked around to see if anyone was awake. To my surprise Glen was here too and was watching TV

“Hey Ash, I was wondering when you’d get here…wheres Spence and Dylan?” he whispered as he got off the couch and headed over to me

“They are asleep, I was hoping Arthur was up to help me carry them in” I whispered back as I gave him a hug, after the night Aiden attacked us Glen and I had become close….I even let him marry Kyla which made us both laugh

“You want me to get Spencer?” he asked as we pulled out of our hug, I smiled at him and nodded. We went out to the car and opened both back doors, it was hard to take the two out as moving one would wake the other. I slowly slid my hand under Dylan and picked him up being gentle not to wake him

“you got him?” Glen asked as I moved back from the car with my son in my arms

“Yeah…make sure you don’t drop my wife” I laughed as he did the same as me and picked Spencer up trying to wake her, I turned around to make sure he had her and she was safe. As I did I saw the funniest thing yet it was so sweet

“I love you Ash” Spence moaned slightly as she cuddled into Glen’s neck, he looked at me and shook his head. After he carried her in I shut the door with my free hand as I had moved Dylan so he was comfortable on my shoulder, we then took them upstairs and put them to bed. Glen lay Spencer on our bed before he turned to me and said night, we didn’t get anything out of the car so Dylan didn’t have is travel bed ready. I assumed that with Glen being here Kyla and Alicia would be too so I placed Dylan next to Spencer who automatically pulled him close to keep him safe.

Not wanting to hurt my son or wake the two I threw a blanket over them before I climbed on the chair in the corner and watched the two sleep before I myself drifted off.

As I began to stir from my sleep I felt someone cuddling me, opening my eyes I saw that I was in bed next to Dylan. His arm lay across my stomach as his head rested on my chest, I didn’t want to move incase I woke him. Like his mother he looked like an angel when he slept

“Morning babe” I heard someone say, I looked around to see Spencer sat in the chair I had fallen asleep in

“how did we?” I said as I pointed between the bed and the chair

“You looked uncomfortable when I woke at 7am with Dylan so I asked my dad to move you…I guess you sleeping made him tired again because as soon as your head hit the pillow he climbed in beside you and had been there since” she smiled as she got up off the chair and climbed onto the bed next Dylan, we leaned over him and kissed

“Ewww… mommy they kissed” Spencer and I pulled apart as we saw Alicia run into the room followed by Kyla,

“Sorry guys” she laughed as she picked Alicia up, as she did Dylan began to move. We figured Alicia shouting had woken him up

“Morning sweetie” Spencer said as he looked around trying to remember where he was as he was still sleepy, he looked up and Spencer and smiled before he looked at me. He slowly sat up and wiped the sleep from his eyes, he then turned around and hugged Spencer giving her a kiss on the lips

“Morning mom” he smiled before he did the same to me, I placed my arm around Spencer as we all lay in bed like a family. It was nice and quiet for a few moment which I liked as I was still pretty tired from the drive

“Dylan!!…. Mommy said she made you breakfast so Aunty Spen an Ash can sleep in” Alicia shouted as she came running into the room, Dylan’s face lit up when he saw his cousin. Giving us another hug and kiss he climbed off the bed and ran downstairs with Alicia.

Spencer then lay down next to me and cuddled where Dylan did

“Spence…” I said as I kissed my wife on the head

“Hmmm Ash” she replied as she lifted my shirt slightly and began to stroke my stomach

“I love you too” I smiled as she shot up and looked at me kind of confused

“Ash I havent said I love you to you this morning” she said as Glen walked past the door

“No you told Ash you loved her while lovingly cuddling me as I carried you in the house” he said as he laughed continuing his was downstairs, Spencer blushed slightly before kissing me.

“Spencer…Ashley breakfast” Arthur shouted, Spencer smiled and climbed off the bed. It was then I realised she was already dressed and sorted for the day. I slowly got myself out of bed and got dressed before heading down to the family.

As I got to the bottom of the stairs two kids ran past me

“Morning Auntie A” Alicia shouted as she ran to the kitchen, Dylan was chasing her but he stopped when he saw me

“Mommy you’re up” he shouted before he got excited and ran towards me jumping into my arms

“yeah im up…did you have a nice sleep?” I asked as I carried him with me into the kitchen

“Yeah I did but mommy was talking to herself and woke me up” he said as he played with my necklace, I looked at Spencer smiling as she again began to blush

“and what was mommy saying Dylan?” I asked as I walked to Spencer and kissed her, she then kissed Dylan on the head. Dylan looked around the room before he cupped his hands around my ears, I guessed he didn’t want anyone else to hear

“Mommy was saying your name but it sounded different” he said as he again looked around the room checking no-one heard him. I kissed his temple and looked at Spencer….from the shocked look it seemed she had heard him.

“Did you sleep well the second time you slept?” Spencer asked as she took him from my arms so I could get something to eat

“yeah mommy I did…. I think mommy had bad dream though” he said whispering the last part, I pretended I didn’t hear him and I didn’t look at Spencer because I knew she’d have a question in her eyes. Grabbing a stood I sat down opposite Kyla who had Alicia on her knee to feed her

“how are you Ash?” she asked as she looked me in the eye, I didn’t answer instead I nodded my head before I began to play games with Alicia. From my reaction both Spencer and Kyla could see I didn’t want to talk about it.

“So guys I was thinking why don’t Kyla and I take the kids out leaving you pair to sort your stuff out while mom and dad are at work” Glen said as he could feel the conversation becoming slightly uncomfortable, Spencer walked over with Dylan and stood next to me

“I don’t know Glen…I don’t really want him out of my site” she said as she put him down so he could go and play with Alicia while we spoke

“Spence he will be fine, Glen and Kyla will be there besides I wanted to talk to you about something” I said as I took her hand in mine and gripped it lovingly letting her know everything is going to be ok.

“Oh ok but make sure he doesn’t leave your sight….hes everything to me” she said as she looked in his directed, her eyes were full of love.

“I promise to look after him Spencer” Glen said as he pulled his little sister into a hug, I did the same with Kyla before I called Dylan over.

“Yes mommy?” he asked as he stood in front of me, I got down on my knees to be at his level and smiled at him

“Auntie Ky and Uncle Glen are taking you out with Alicia for a few hours…” I said before he looked up at Spencer and then back at me

“You and mommy are coming right?” he asked his eyes hoping id say yes, I lowered my head as I didn’t want to disappoint him, I then felt Spencer lean on my shoulder as she came down to our level

“Dylan we cant come…remember mommy has a surprise for you so we have to sort it out for when you get back” she said softly as she placed her right hand on my knee using her left to stroke Dylan’s cheek

“Oh ok….but the prise better be huuuge” he said in a really cute voice before he wrapped an arm around Spencer and another round me pulling us into a hug
