As much as Spencer would never admit it, it made her slightly jealous. Not because this girl was stealing her Best Friend's heart but because she too wanted someone to care about. Someone who's eye's lit up everytime they said her name. She didn't want a kindergarden crush. She was ready for the real thing. Spencer was ready to find her one true love.
She cleared her head from her musing and extended her hand to the brunette in front of her. "Im sorry, I never got to fully introduce myself. Im Spencer Carlin."
Kyla shook the hand extended to her throwing her a warm smile. "Nice to finally meet you Spencer Carlin."
"Well I better get back to teaching the lesson, but will talk later?"
"Of course. Go right on ahead teacher."
Spencer chuckled and threw Kyla a bar of wax. "Here, your gonna need this." Than she turned around and headed to the front of the circled teens. "Alright everyone, lets hit the waves!" She said clapping her hands in front of her gathering there attention.
---
Spencer was getting ready to dismiss her class. The lesson had gone over smoothly, as per usual. She had actually been impressed by how many students actually managed to stand up on there boards and ride a few waves in. It made her so proud to see so many grasping onto it so quickly, silently applauding her own teaching skills. Spencer Carlin was not modest when it came to her surfing. She knew damn well she was amazing on a surfboard. She had plenty of planks and trophies lining the shelves on her bedroom walls to prove it. But she also knew that when it came to teaching it, she was one of the best on the staff. Her boss praised her constantly for all the great feedback he had received from the group she had teached.
"Alright guy's its been my pleasure teaching you all. You've been great listeners and I see alot of potential. I hope you continuing trying. As cliche as this is, always remember the old saying 'Practice makes perfect.' I can't wait to compete against you all in future competitions! It's been fun, thank's you guys and I hope to see you all around soon.. Now scram!"
She sent them a warm smile while they all laughed, one by one making there way up to thank her and extend a goodbye. Upon them leaving she let out an exasperated breath. Finally she would be able to go out on her own without having to babysit the group. She bent down and picked up her board, fastening the black leash around her ankle.
"Do you ever tire of the ocean?" Spencer turned her head towards the voice that was beginning to become more and more familiar.
"Not a chance." She smiled as Kyla approached her with a surfboard tucked neatly beneath her arm.
"Mind if I join you?"
"Well that all depends.." Spencer let the sentence linger.
Kyla impatiently sat there waiting for her to finish her sentence, Eventually letting curiousity take over. "On?"
Spencer chuckled and looked up at the brunette in front of her.
