Kyla broke threw the ocean's surface, loudly gasping for lungfuls of air. Once she had finally caught her breath she swam towards her surfboard throwing all her body weight on top of it while once again trying to balance.

"What is wrong with this stupid thing!"

Spencer stared at the girl amused. "I highly doubt that it's the board's fault Kyla."

Kyla turned and threw Spencer a spine tingling glare, silently telling the blonde in front of her it would be in her best interest to keep her mouth closed. Kyla Davies was so clearly not amused.

Spencer quickly threw her hands up in surrender. "All im saying is you need to loosen up a bit. Surfing isn't about fact and logic Ky, it's about feeling the wave." She threw a quick smirk at Kyla. "And it's clearly obvious that your not feeling the wave."

Kyla let out a loud groan. "Oh well since your such an amazing teacher Miss Carlin, by all means show me how I can in fact 'feel the wave.'" She emphasized the quote signs with her two fingers.

"Well for one, your positioning yourself all wrong."

Spencer paddled her way over to Kyla, repositioning the brunette so that her body was no longer lazily clutching the surfboard.

"There. Now when I say go I want you to paddle as hard as your arms can possibly manage. Remember the ocean has a strange way of sensing if your at all a little tense or nervous, so I need you to let your senses give way and let your heart take over. Surf with your soul, not your mind and body. Got it?"

Kyla mumbled a slight "Sure" under her breath.

"Alright now get ready...Okay go!"

Spencer angled Kyla's board toward's the forming wave heading there direction. Using all the strength her body could muster Kyla routinely pumped her hands in and out of the water, trying to keep up with the folding wave.

'Come on Ky, you can do it. Just feel the wave. Let it take you.'

Feeling the tug of the wave crashing beneath her Kyla bent her arms in preparation. Closing her eyes and taking one final deep breath she gently pushed herself off of the rocking board beneath her curling her feet under her in the process. She quickly threw an arm out either side of her hoping to help balance her out. A few moments passed before she realized that she was actually doing it. She had finally landed her wave. Opening her eyes, she took in her surroundings. The water so beautifully drifted the board towards the ocean shore. She could faintly hear Spencer hollering "Woo Hoo's!" in the distance. She steadied herself silently praying that she wouldn't suddenly loose her balance and get engulfed by the crashing wave, as she had so many past times.

When Kyla's board made it to shore, she swiftly jumped off onto the soft sand throwing her hands above her head.

"I did it!"

Spencer quickly approached the Ocean front, sporting a smug smirk on her face.

"That'll teach you to ever question Spencer Carlin." She smiled at the brunette before softly patting her on the shoulder.

"Good job kid."

"So what you up to now?"

Spencer wiped off the sticky salt water with her towel. She loved how surfing always gave her body a big workout, in turn leaving her fit and tan. She grabbed her denim skirt from her backpack, tugging it up to her waist and clasping the button.
