Daniel said, 'I don't care where I should be. But I do care what you are about to do.'

Paula said, 'Don't try and stop me, Daniel. Don't stand in the middle or try and take me down to the floor.'

Daniel calmly said, 'I will not interfere.'

Paula asked, 'Promise?'

Daniel looked Paula in the eyes and calmly said, 'I promise. But I won't stand idly by while you do something that you're going to regret.'

Paula said, 'My only regret is that I can't punch that woman in the face. It might have been an over-reaction but atleast it would have been mine.'

This was just going to be a strong exchange of words of power. Paula was ready to be stronger and more fierce than a pride of Raptors. If the most dangerous animal was a mother protecting her young, Gertrud was going to have to deal with a pride of Paulas. When Daniel stepped aside, while maintaining a visual lock on Paula, she went about her business and made the first move.

Turning her head left and right "No", Paula looked at Gertrud with contempt and said, 'You call yourself a mother?' Then Paula huffed and looked her way up Gertrud's body.

Gertrud dropped her jaw in shock. After what Paula had said, all she did was look up Gertrud's body. As for Gertrud, she looked to her side for her husbands support. He was there, but his arms were across his chest and his head was nodding "No" like Paula. This was his way of saying 'You did this.' When she looked at Paula, face to face, body against body, she got a wide truck load of rage and she did know fear.

'YOU'RE NOT EVEN A HUMAN BEING! You come in here...call ME a liar... say nothing the whole time...and ALL YOU HAVE FOR HER IS "how did you come to steal"! You couldn't even bear to look your own daughter in the eyes or see her smile! NO! Did you even hear a word she said about the work she did with Earth Friendly? NO! You just sat there like a statue, looking down on what she did, with no remorse, and no compassion, asking "how did you come to steal".'

Then Paula took a few steps away in a circle and breathing heavy. If this was all Paula had to say, she did leave a mark on Gertrud's face. Maybe she over-reacted. Maybe she didn't. But she was not done quite yet.

Paula said, 'I am well aware that you never expected Franzi to wind up with me, or any woman for that matter. So I can understand your hesitation.' Then Paula began to raise and expel her anger at Gertrud. 'But that does NOT...excuse you...for taking a dump..on HER FEELINGS! YES! SHE HAS FEELINGS! THE KIND OF THINGS I DOUBT YOU WOULD KNOW ABOUT! YES! She stole from Daniel! YES! She was addicted to cocaine! YES! She was in a fire that she might have even caused while drunk! BUT THAT DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO PULL THIS KIND OF BULLSHIT WITH HER, OR ME, when we are trying to help her get out of this situation. I don't care what you do with other people. Here, you deal with me before you even think of going stone-brained! You don't move! You don't breathe! AND YOU DON'T BREAK HER HEART BECAUSE YOU FEEL YOU'RE HOLIER OR MIGHTIER THAN WE ARE! CLEAR!?' After that, Paula's mouth was nailed shut as she stared down Gertrud's terrified face.

Back in reality: Franzi combed her hair, looked in the mirror, and opened the door. She looked a little depressed, but she did her best to hide it.

Paula and Franzi hugged each other and Franzi said, 'I am so sorry.'

Paula pulled back to look at Franzi's face and asked, 'What's wrong?'

Franzi lowered her head and said, 'I'm such an idiot.'

Paula told Franzi, 'My God, no Franzi. Don't ever say anything like that. You have nothing to apologize for.'

Franzi said, 'I'm sorry you had to deal with my mother like that. You know? We never really got to tell them about us before today.' Babbling on with many sentences, Franzi said, 'She didn't even know that I was dating Philip, or that I was pushing my luck with a married woman, that you by the way. She probably doesn't even know the word lesbian let alone know any. Not that I believe in that word. I like to think that if I love a woman, that I'm just another person and I happen to love a woman. I mean, I could easily be interested in Tim at the agency or Eva Mendes or maybe Salma Hayek because, God knows, she is a knockout.'

Franzi didn't even notice Paula saying 'Franzi' through her babbling. Paula had let her go so she went on rambling in countless circles. When Paula thought she gotten far off base, Paula said, 'Franzi, Franzi' with her hands on Franzi's arms. This was almost like Franzi getting cornered in the flatshare and Paula admitting her love for her.

Paula said, 'Franzi. It's like I said. I don't care where you came from. It's who you are that I want to be with. Who you are makes me happy. My God. When you woke up the first time here..I was ready to slide into bed with you and hold our bodies as one.'

Looking at Paula's sincere face, Franzi smiled, lowered her head, then raised it back to Paula's face. 'What...um..
