Mmmm I sense a lot of pain and sorrow since I lost saw her and wait…wait is that no that can’t be love OH MY GOD “WHAT”, Willow yelled not realizing she had. Faith just glared at her.

‘You think you could get out of my head?’

‘Sorry.’

Buffy looked at both of them. What the heck is going on...? Not them too she thought to herself before groaning.

“Um a sure we can talk”, Willow said. “But you better not try anything”.

“Like Killing”, Xander said...

“I haven’t killed a single innocent in like six years”, Faith said getting annoyed. “Oh Shit”, she gasped not realizing she had said her earlier comment aloud.

“Hey”, Gage said frowning as he folded his arms on his chest.

“Sorry boyo. Bill my later k”, she said knowing full well she had been caught cursing. Gage nodded and put his head back on her shoulder.

Buffy looked up at her immediately to her response confused and pissed. That evil son of a…how can she stand there and lie I don’t if Gage is here. “How can you say that especially after….Faith, who do you think you are”, Buffy asked.

“Fai”, Gage started to say before Faith lifted her eyebrow at him and nodded. “Mommy why is Buffy mad at you. Why can’t you just tell her you l…” Gage began before Faith put her hand over his mouth and looked at him. The look told him not to say another word if he wanted to live. He knew that look and simply pulled his mouth away from her hand and nodded then looked at Buffy and then back at his mom and smiled.

“How come he called you Faith earlier and was about to again. I mean if you are his mom and”, Dawn started ask looking at Faith.

Faith looked at her and said, “It’s a code thing to keep him safe, kidnapping the son of a slayer”. Waving her hand towards Gage, letting them get the picture. “Only a few people know he’s my son, like Carmon, Angel and his gang, and now you guys”.

“Hey squirt can you take him while I talk to them”, Faith asked looking at Dawn.

“Sure. And don’t call me squirt”, Dawn replied annoyed.

“No, I don’t want to”, Gage said as she put him down in front of Dawn. Faith glared at him and he simply looked down.

“Okay”, he said as he started to walk off with Dawn as Andrew followed.

Gage suddenly stopped and ran back to his mom and gave her a hug as if she would be gone when he came back.

As he started to walk back to Dawn Faith grabbed his hand turning him around letting a tear roll down her cheek. As he turned she could see his own tears. “Come here boyo”, she said taking in a deep breath as she picked him up and tickled him on his sides.

As he giggled Buffy tried to hold back a smile. She loved the way he laughed. She loved everything about the little boy and it pulled at her, and she hated that.

Faith walked away from everyone else so they could have some privacy. She kissed his forehead and then put her head against his. “I’m not gonna leave you…not this time…okay”, she said trying to hold back her tears as they begin to fall.

He gave a slight smile as tears ran slowly down his own face. He put his small hands one on either side of her cheeks and held her face as they looked at each other. “You know I love right”, she asked as he nodded yes. Then Gage kissed her on her nose and then she did the same to him. Everyone was standing in awe at the beautiful site before them. Even Buffy had a small smile but was quickly erased with a frown.

I’ve never seen Faith so… maybe she has changed. I know I sense… no I can’t let her come in her like she did last. I can’t believe I fell for her tricks. She hurt me. She hurt all of us again after she said she changed when she came and helped us with the First. I trusted her….and…and I…… I can’t do this. Buffy thought to herself before walking off.

Faith looked up at Buffy as she started to walk off.

“Buffy Please”, Faith begged as she looked at Buffy, her eyes pleading with her as she walked over to her.

She called me Buffy she…she never calls me Buffy. Yeah maybe B, Blondie, or Twinkie but never Buffy. Buffy thought to herself as she froze then she slowly turned around. “What do you want Faith”, she asked looking a little pissed.

“I just….I need to tell you all something, all of you”, Faith said looking from her to Willow, Xander, Giles, and so on.

“Please just give me ten minutes and if after that you never want to see me again I’ll leave and you’ll never hear from either of us again”.

She’s gonna take him away.  I can’t…Buffy looked to Willow to see her nod.

“Okay, but if you try anything”, Buffy said looking her straight in the eyes.

“I swear”, Faith smiled thankfully. Gage looked at her in confusion. “It’s a good kinda swear”, she said as he nodded.

“So can I stay”, he asked wiggling his eyebrows.

So that’s where he learned that I should’ve known. Buffy thought to herself. She had fallen so many times by both of them from that same look.

“I guess so but just for a bit, but when I say it’s time to leave you leave no stalling promise”, she asked him her face now serious.

“Promise”, he asked holding up his little pinky. She put her pinky to his and shook it. She tried not to look at Buffy. She could feel all her hold feelings for the blonde starting to come back, not that they had ever left. Gage looked at Buffy and then at his mom and smiled. Faith just looked away she knew what he was thinking. She had told him many stories about Buffy and she figured he put the pieces together. Buffy just stood there looking puzzled.

“Can we just get this over with”, Buffy said before walking back towards the library. Gage struggled to get out of his mom’s arms and grabbed her hand before running to try and catch up with Buffy. The rest of the gang just laughed at and followed them. Kennedy and Willow whispered about everything that may be going on.
